Jennifer Gable: Comedy, Grit, and Real Talent

Jennifer Gable

Jennifer Gable’s story didn’t start on stage it started in the D.C. suburbs, where she grew up as an only child performing skits for her stuffed animals. That early imagination turned into a passion for storytelling, comedy, and performance that’s now shaped a decade-long career in stand-up, acting, writing, and directing.

She’s performed in major cities across the U.S. and internationally, earned spots on legendary stages like The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, and The Hollywood Improv, and developed a voice that’s bold, sharp, and completely her own.

Along the way, she’s acted in an HBO pilot directed by David Fincher (Living on Video), and directed the late Anton Yelchin in the feature film Broken Horses. She was also once considered for the role of Courtney Love in Soaked in Bleach and casting told her she nailed it. That moment is still one of her proudest highlights.

Now, she’s about to release her debut comedy special.

6 Drink Minimum premieres June 10 on Amazon Prime.
Filmed live at The Broadwater Theater in Hollywood, the special delivers fast-paced, honest comedy about sobriety, politics, dating, and the absurdities of everyday life. It’s distributed by Comedy Dynamics, a company known for working with top comedy talent.

Jennifer’s material hits hard because it comes from experience. She’s been sober for most of her adult life, she’s been through divorce, and she’s performed at everything from late-night clubs to corporate events to Zoom shows during the pandemic. Her work is sharp but grounded, edgy but human.

She’s also an award-winning filmmaker. Her short drama 13 Steps, shot on RED cameras, won at the HollyShorts Film Festival. She plans to edit her next project herself for full creative control.

Her second special is already in the works, filming this summer at a theater in Santa Monica. She’s also pitching her web series Pennies for Your Thoughts, a comedy about struggling artists making it in Hollywood.

Jennifer’s voice has gone viral on Twitter, been heard on Sirius XM and Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, and she regularly hosts The Attention Harlot podcast. She’s a SAG-AFTRA member, UCB alum, Groundlings-trained improviser, and a mainstay on comedy stages in New York, L.A., Vegas, and beyond.

She’s also working on launching a nonprofit drug rehab in West Los Angeles focused on addiction recovery, something she’s deeply passionate about and connected to through her own journey.

As she puts it:

“It also seems like comedians are being edgier than ever again after ‘cancel culture’ and pushing the envelope more in recent specials and also online.”

Jennifer Gable is fearless, funny, and firmly in control of her voice and the best is still ahead.
